Nearly 14 years ago, civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who died Feb. 17, traveled to the Lehigh Valley where he was a guest lecturer at Lehigh University and Moravian College. Vera Fennell, professor of political science, was in the audience that day. "He really seemed to connect with people in a very human way and in a way that really inspired them," said Fennell, who told WFMZ her biggest takeaway from Jackson's visit was the importance of community work.
