Professor Caivano to Speak at the University of Warsaw

Professor Dean Caivano has been invited to deliver a lecture titled “Who’s Afraid of the Necro-President? Sovereignty, Spectacle, and Political Authority in Decline” as part of the American Studies Colloquium Series at the American Studies Center, University of Warsaw.

The lecture will take place on March 12, 2026.

In this talk, Professor Caivano develops the concept of the necro-president to examine transformations in contemporary executive authority, focusing on sovereignty, spectacle, and political legitimacy under conditions of institutional decline.
