The article shows that a depolarization workshop conducted amongst other members of your own party reduces affective polarization (dislike of the other party). Unlike many other existing depolarizing workshop, this one does not depend upon cross-party contact. This makes the workshop studied in this paper potentially easier to implement, since Americans are increasingly isolated from members of the opposite party. One of the coauthors, Christopher Woods, earned his MA at Lehigh in 2019.
