John Kaag is a professor at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He is the author of numerous books, including Idealism, Pragmatism, and Feminism (2011), Thinking Through the Imagination: Aesthetics in Human Cognition (2014), Drone Warfare (with Sarah Kreps, 2015) and the much acclaimed, award-winning American Philosophy: A Love Story (2016). His most recent book, Hiking with Nietzsche: Becoming Who You Are, has just been published by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux. In addition to his many scholarly articles, Prof. Kaag’s writing has appeared in The New York Times, Harper’s Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and many other publications.
